Express Manufacturing, Inc. (EMI) Awarded the AS9100C Certification

Santa Ana, CA  —    October 24,  2014.  Express Manufacturing, Inc. (EMI) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the AS9100C Audit and  has been awarded the AS9100C:2009 compliance certification.

The AS9100C also supports the FAA's FAR Title 14 Part 21 requirements. This standard covers the overall quality requirements relating to design, development, production, distribution, servicing, purchasing, validations and shipping. Additional benefits of the AS9100C certification include productivity, improved performance, ongoing operational cost reduction and efficiency. This certification, meets the requirements of major aerospace manufacturers such as Boeing and Pratt & Whitney, has also been endorsed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the US Department of Defense (DoD), the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA). In order to do business with these aerospace manufacturers, suppliers worldwide must meet the AS9100C compliance.

In summary, the AS9100C 2009 certification, which adds additional requirements to the ISO9001, meets the high standard of quality set forth by the aerospace industry. These additions include setting quality objectives and requirements to cover safety, reliability, maintainability and inspectability. In addition to simplifying the process of doing business with the aerospace OEM customers and their supply chain, the AS9100C certification provides a multitude of benefits for all customers.

Through the implementation of the AS9100C certification, EMI will   ensure their customers of the presence of an effective Quality Management System (QMS) within the organization. With the QMS in place, a company’s progress is obvious and appropriate action can be taken when necessary. In response, defect rates decrease due to the fact that defects are caught earlier and, therefore, corrected at a lower cost. QMS procedures also provide an audit of current practices to identify those that are obsolete or inefficient. This leads to a rise in productivity as well as customer satisfaction by ensuring that products will meet high quality standards while increasing profitability.

With over 32 years of success in the industry, EMI was named as the largest privately held Electronic Manufacturing Service provider for the past eight consecutive years by the Orange County Business Journal. EMI continues to strive for the best quality in assembly, test, production and order fulfillment and has now added the new certification to its ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003. Additional services provided by EMI include medical product manufacturing, Package-on-Package assembly.  To service customers in the Semiconductor Industry, EMI also provides Environmental Stress Screening Services (ESS) as well as Professional Electronic Analytical Services which consists of Package Integrity, Analysis and Decapsulation.
